Eliza Faulkner

In an age where fast fashion dominates the high street, Eliza Faulkner is a breath of fresh air. The Montreal-based designer has made it her mission to bring slow fashion into the spotlight—creating beautifully bold, ethically produced pieces that celebrate femininity, craftsmanship, and conscious consumerism.

From Vancouver Island to the Global Stage

Eliza Faulkner’s fashion journey began on Vancouver Island, where a childhood spent surrounded by fabric and creativity sparked her lifelong love for design. After graduating from Central Saint Martins in London—a training ground for many of fashion’s top names—she gained experience with iconic designers like Erdem and Roland Mouret before returning to Canada to build her own label.

She officially launched her brand in 2012, starting with a single linen dress and a vision: to create beautiful, wearable fashion with integrity.

What Makes Eliza Faulkner Different?

Eliza Faulkner is not just another fashion label. Her pieces are designed, cut, and sewn entirely in Montreal, supporting local production and minimizing environmental impact. Using natural fabrics like linen and cotton, the brand ensures every collection is both sustainable and luxurious.

Small-batch production means each item receives meticulous attention to detail—offering customers a unique, high-quality garment made to last. Fabric scraps are repurposed into accessories like scrunchies and collars, further reducing waste and maximizing resources.

A Commitment to Empowerment Through Style

Eliza’s designs are instantly recognizable—think voluminous sleeves, vibrant colour palettes, and feminine silhouettes that make a statement. These aren’t clothes to blend in with; they’re made to express confidence and creativity.

It’s no surprise that notable women such as Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, Kelly Clarkson, and Nelly Furtado have been seen in her designs. Each piece reflects Faulkner’s belief that fashion should uplift and empower the wearer.

Slow Fashion That’s Scaling Up

While many small brands face an uphill battle in scaling sustainable fashion, Eliza Faulkner’s label is thriving. Her collections are now carried by major retailers like Free People and Rent the Runway, and with continued growth projected, her success proves that slow fashion can be both ethical and commercially viable.

Looking to the Future

Eliza Faulkner continues to push boundaries while staying true to the core principles of slow fashion: thoughtful design, ethical production, and long-lasting quality. As the demand for responsible fashion grows, her brand offers a model for what the future of the industry could—and should—look like.
